Quick shots 50 summarit and planar

More for fun and information, here two shots from the leica summarit 50 and zeiss 50 planar. Two lenses in about the same price (<1000 euro)

The zeiss is a little off (focused on the lens). Don't know if thats me or the lens itself. The leica was spot on.

CZ 50/2.0 @ 2.0 1/90 iso160

Leica 50/2.5 @ 2.5 1/250 iso640

crop

The leica feels a bit more loose. Turning the focus knob goes more easy.
I really love the size. Great small lens.

At http://kenrockwell.com/leica/, it says Ken doesn't like the leica's built however. So I'm curious about the other leica's build..

Do others also have the same ideas about the summarits? Would you take a summarit or secondhand summicron?

A nice second hand summicron can be had for not too much money, so thatīs certainly a good option. Though some say itīs more prone to flare than other modern 50mm lenses. I like the summarit because itīs comparably small and because it has a focusing tab. Some donīt like the summarits lens hood (and you have to pay extra to get it with the lens). I use it without hood to keep the footprint as small as possible. Needless to say, the cron is faster than the summarit. The planar is a good lens too, though bigger. There have been some complaints about the focusing mechanics getting loose with time. Others say that this is easily fixed by tightening some screws.
