Not the best of the line, but it's always taken great photos.

Here's my GSN, the VF is a bit dirty so I need to look into getting that cleaned out. Other than that it's in great shape and has taken some great shots

Here's my "new" GX, sourced from our very own Frontman, picked up in person in Tokyo last week. Works great. Test roll is well-exposed, sharp, no problems. Frontman seem to have an inexhaustable supply of compact rangefinders, and he certainly has the knack for putting them into good working order. Happiness is a working shutter, all lights going right, no light leaks, and good images.

While I've been shooting Yashicas, primarily GSNs and GTNs, since the early 1970s while in Okinawa and mainland Japan, I'm really starting to appreciate the MG-1s quite a bit. Though they're limited in shutter speed and F stops, compared to the GSN/GTNs, they take great pictures and quite frankly I like the metering cell above the lens much better than on the camera body ala GSN/GTN. I've picked up several black models in prime to mint condition for a much lower price than I see for a GTN. I presently have two GSNs [both silver] and 3 black MG-1s. Great cameras!

Here is an interesting Yashica, the old YF. The YF was Yaschica's response to the Leica M3, and it has the same shape, weight, and smoothness of operation as a Leica M. The main differences are the Barnack style shutter speed knobs, and the lack of adjustable frame lines for different lenses. Film loading is the same as on an M3, and the YF even has an access door on the back.

Hi, this is my first post and here is my pride and glory the old MG-1 from my father.
I "replaced" the battery, cleaned it from the outside(it ist like new) and added a UV-Filter and a Lenshood +Tripod.
Unfortunately the flash wasn`t working either so I had to repair that as well...but now, after 3films with very nice B/W pictures everything is working just fine.

Hi Frontman, I've been shooting my Yashica YF for a couple of weeks now. Mine has the original LTM Yashinon 50/1.8. I see you have a Canon 50/1.8 fitted. Have you the Yashinon too? How does it stack up next to the famous Canon 50/1.8?
One thing that bothers me on the YF is that I'm used to Yashica's glorious leaf-shutter mechanicals, the peak of which (in my opinion) was the Lynx 1000. My Lynx 1000 is ridiculously smooth and quiet. You say the YF is as smooth as the Leica M3; the wind lever on my YF makes quite a stiff click at the end of the stroke. Is yours like that too?
I'm about to set off down the road to buy a tool I need to begin tearing my YF apart. The shutter is capping at 1/1000 and it looks like that's just the surface of a few shutter problems. It's been sitting on a shelf on display for decades and I think it needs a cleaning before the shutter will work nicely.

Picked this YF up last week. Little rough and the focus ring is frozen.

My Minister-D that I picked up from the local thrift shop for $5 including the black leather case.
Went next door to the battery store and got a battery for the light meter and hey presto!
It's in great condition, a bit of chrome has lifted from the shoe, and the back lock doesn't work, it's been dinged there.
I've run one roll of Fuji 200 through it and it's lovely and sharp. No light leaks or shutter speed problems and it feeds lovely and smooth.

Ok, I'll cheat a little bit. I've become a huge fan of the Hipstamatic. Plus it was an easier shot this way.
