Looking for some Konica Auto S2 parts...

Hey folks:

The other day at work, I was given a camera by a coworker who had this 'old camera' when she was in college. It had been sitting in her attic for many years and she was about to have a big garage sale, but she 'knew I was into cameras' so she brought it in and gave it to me.

It's a Konica Auto S2. Dirty as can be - and strangely enough, it has a lovely bright viewfinder and a crisp rangefinder patch. At first, I thought the shutter was frozen (I've had several over the years that did, and didn't respond to the usual zippo lighter fluid treatment), but it started working and seems to be in pretty good shape!

However - the front element of the lens is cracked. How that happened, I have no idea. From looking at the front trim ring that holds the lens in, I suspect it's been molested in the past, so maybe that had something to do with it. The threads on the front of the lens are fine, the built in lens hood is pristine (just dirty), just the lens element is cracked.

Also, the winding lever seems have had some minor corrosion - looks like something dripped on it. Otherwise, the camera seems to be in good shape.

I'd like to get it working, but I don't want to buy another Konica as a parts camera - my wife will skin me if I do. I had a couple of them when we moved to NC from NM last year - sadly, I tossed them since they were DOA.

So, if anyone has any spare parts for a Konica Auto S2, I need a front lens element, the screwy-inny things that hold it in, and the wind on lever if possible.

Thanks!

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

I believe I have a complete camera minus the bottom plate in my spare parts box. If you pay for the shipping, I would be happy to send it to you. PM me if you're interested.

Man! I posted like three minutes ago - I'm getting pinged left and right. I love this place. Thank you all, my friends. Cheme, a PM is enroute.

Thanks again,

Bill Mattocks
