Mamiya 7, 43mm Lens Source

KEH has an EX graded 43mm lens plus finder, minus hood...listed for $1,079.
I've asked them to include the $33 hood but haven't heard back yet.

Anyone got any ideas of a better source for this lens? They seem to be going for more than that on ebay.

Have you ordered from KEH before? They may have dropped the order because they require phone contact for a first order, and I suspect they did not leave a message. I have had this happen to me in the past.

I have since (and previously, but with different e-mail and physical addresses) had wonderful success with their order fulfillment and rating system.

I hadn't actually placed the order with KEH, only asked them to include the hood.
They have declined, stating that policy does not allow them to negotiate price.

So...I'll just place the order for lens and hood. I think this is the most expensive piece of photo gear I've ever bought.

Seen some great stuff from that lens, so I'm sure I'll be the limitation...which is how it should be.

I have no personal experience but have heard that the most safe way to make an order is to call - there are more sale guys working in parallel and the lens that is still listed on the web may be already sold for couple of hours. If you call first - then the guy will go and check in person whether the lens is there and you know for sure. Just to avoid confusion and anger.

You guys are lucky to have a company like KEH out there in US. Here in EU the 2nd hand stuff is mostly overpriced in retail ...
