Here are the swirly bokeh shots from a Prominent Nokton 50mm F1.5 (1953), Millenium Nikkor-50mm F1.4.
The photos are taken at different place, different time. Which one is better?

I find the Nokton photo remarkable and it makes the Nikkor, actually also a very nice shot with lovely (not very swirly) Bokeh and subject separation, seem almost pedestrian by comparison. Can you post more of this particular lens pairing? You may force a Nokton onto my wish list, where none had previously resided. A shot or two from a vintage Nikkor would be interesting as well, and then there is the Zeiss Sonnar 1.5/50 in the Nikon mount ....

GAS is endless, all else will pass (quietly and one hopes, without a trace).

I've never notices Astigmatism in my Milennium Nikkor. The 1950s 50mm F1.5 Nokton has it- no doubt. I use a Nokton on my Nikon cameras with the appropriate adapter, it is a fine lens. It is a Planar formula lens. The Adapter allows the Prominent mount Nokton, Ultron, and Heliar to be used on an S-Mount camera. From there, you can use it with an S-Mount to M-Mount adapter.

1950s Nokton's in LTM are rare and expensive.

I shimmed a Zeiss 50/1.5 to focus properly on a Nikon. It is not hard. I also shimmed a Nikon S2 to focus properly with Contax mount lenses.

Dear Brian,

I thought that the mount incompatibility was not fully resolved by shimming, because of the different angular rotations of the two mounts. Presumably I was wrong? Or is it a case of 'theoretically wrong, doesn't matter in the real world'?

There exists an inexpensive adapter for the Prominent Nokton to be used on a Contax camera. Then, an Amedeo adapter can be used from Contax to LTM/M.

I have done lens comparisons which included a Nokton LTM. I was very impressed by its performance, and I then bought such a lens in Prominent mount.
