My Diafine has dandruff...

Just mixed my very first batch of Diafine. Used distilled water at around 30°C. It was quite easy to mix up solution B, but with solution A I had a problem: as soon as I started pouring the powder into the water (while stirring), white flocks (looking kinda like dandruff) started to appear, and would not dissolve, no matter how much I stirred. Now they are sitting at the bottom of the bottle, and I have a hunch they'll still be there when I come home from work at night; I guess, Head & Shoulders won't help, either...
Anybody ever experienced the same thing?

Roman

From the Diafine instructions for use:

"In use, the solutions will become discolored and a slight precipitate may form which will in no way affect their working properties. The precipitate may be removed, if desired, by filtering."

So no worries, I'd say

Well, whichever dandruffs are , I also got some precipitate on the bottom of my A solution, just like a tiny caleidoscope, just leave it sit overnight or for a couple days and they will be gone.

No worries. Just use opaque amber jugs instead of transparent. Problem solved.

Tom

PS: If a few flakes are bothering you, be sure and close your eyes when you pour in part B after a couple of hundred rolls.

My Diafine does the same thing... as does my Microphen and ID11. Everything works just fine.

Sometimes, late at night, I glance over to the shelf where my chemicals reside and swear I can see the cap on jug B start to sloooooowly turn all by itself. This seems to happen just as I am turning off the lights and leaving the room. All the tell-tale signs of activity are gone come daylight. The developer that Stephen King would love.
