a question -

providing i can find a seller with a used cv 28/3.5 to sell me...
do you think i might find one for about 200 u.s.?
or is that too low to shoot for?

Joe, remember that you'll need a finder, and CV ones are not that far of 200 bucks either...

I have been looking for a used CV 28/3.5 too Joe. From what I see, when you do find one they are in very good condition (they all are pretty young after all) and not discounted very much less than new. When listed they regularly get bid up over $225 on Ebay. If you find one, ask if they have 2. I will do the same.

actually, i have searched around and have not found ANY 28s for sale, anywhere! kinda weird!

but it may be for the best - i just checked my bank account and that 'little extra' i thought i had has vanished.
life is so strange - extra hangers show up in the closet, socks get lost in the dryer and money just disappears...

oscar, i doubt i would use the finder. i most likely would use the entire frame area to approximate the 28 coverage at first and then learn from shooting where the edges where. at least that's the plan for now.

Are you sure you can live by going this route Joe?

I have 28mm SLR lens and the viewfinder of Bessa covers only 80% of 28mm coverage. Even if you shift your eye to really look at edges, where you will see very heavy pincushion distortion, that's only about 90% of 28mm coverage.

PS: I dont wear glasses nor contact lens so I can really squeeze my eyeball into the VF. Still I won't get more than 85%-90% of 28mm coverage.

i have yet to try it kris but i thought i'd give it a shot.
it would mean picking up a finder later on if it didn't work for me.

none the less, at the rate of my saving it will be a while before i have the chance.
