Saigon, Saigon!

Took a quick trip down to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, with my M6 and a Ultron 28mm F2.0. Shot on Tri-X and developed in HC110B. It is certainly an interesting place for street photography!

have a few more shots that i might post up..

Cheers!

I grew up in that city but don't remember much of it. Thanks for the memories!

These are simply timeless shots... one could not really tell whether it was taken in 2009 or 1979 (well, apart from the presence of a lot of cars/trucks/motorbikes)

I also like the way you call it Saigon, rather than HCMC

Hey merelyok where are you based? I'm in Saigon right now and haven't have much luck finding fellows RFFer in Vietnam lol. Are you in Hanoi or Hue or somewhere else? You got some nice shots there and that's very nice to see you ventured to some not-so-popular places, I can show you more though hehe.

Thanks for the comments all!

hans voralberg, i was there just for a short holiday so i'm already back in my own country (Singapore).

I do appreciate the offer and perhaps we could meet up if i were to head down back to HCM again!

Hi Merelyok,

Lovely pictures there... fav's the last one.

Nice to see a fellow RFfer from the lion city that appreciates the beauty of B/w.

Will be down in HCMC next week or so for business, however my boss forbids me to bring anything larger than his ixus.... !"$#"#"

Thanks Trev! Pity about the Ixus..but i reckon you could tell your boss that a rangefinder is just about slightly larger than the Ixus!

And as promised, a few more shots

The Ultron 28mm is a cracker of a lens, i love the way it renders wide open and also how sharp it is stopped down.
