It reminds me gigabitfilms but this time with color. I wish the butterfly waited for me to test my rigid summicron 50 to see the difference

Nice! I just got a 1966 vintage Elmar 50/2.8 in M-mount last week, and I'm already salivating for an upgrade now! (Though the vintage lens will collapse on my R-D1 where the Elmar-M will not.)

This surprises me, Kermaier, since the Elmar-M doesn't collapse as deep as the classic Elmar 2.8. Is this due to diameter of the collapsing barrel ?
Just wondering,
Roland.

I have purchased a new set of lenses:
21 2.8 Asph.
50 2.8
75 2.5
35 2 (7 element chrome)
it seems the cheapest (50 2.8) is the best among them
i guess leica must rethink its sale policies, Noctilux .95 $900, Elmar-M 50 $10000

the 75 2.5 is a killer, i will send some samples taken with m8 asap., i will never waste money on 75 2, just look at 75 2.5 MTF compared to 75 2

Summarit 75 2.5 with m8 without IR/UV (i dont have e46 IR), the distance between the two lights is 130cm (4.2 ft), just look at the bokeh at f2.5, the closer light is at 90cm (the minimum focus of Summarit 75 2.5)

I'll buy one for sure, when I get back to England. Still want the f2.0 of the Cron though.

Yes, Roland -- I think that's the problem. See this thread:
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/foru...ad.php?t=70233
The comments from LCT, who owns both lenses, indicate that the collapsing barrel tube of the newer Elmar-M rubs the R-D1's cam roller on the way in, but the older Elmar does not.

I never tested it on RD1 i have M8 but it might be possible because the diameter is about 2mm bigger
