MARCH/APRIL ... FOURTEEN DAY ONE CAMERA ONE LENS CHALLENGE ... the start!
14 Day One Camera One Lens Challenge.
Proposed Rules and Schedule.
Commencing 25th March 09
Ending 7th April 09
Camera Choice/one only … open but this is the only camera body you can use for leisure (non pro) photography for the stated period.
Lens Choice/one only … open but no zooms and also the only lens you can use for leisure (non pro) photography for the stated period.
Film/Memory Card Usage … as much as you want as often as you want.
Flash Usage … yes.
Cropping … mild cropping is ok but not landscape to portrait or vice versa.
Subject Material … portraits/landscapes/street whatever you want within reason.
Images To Be Submitted … three maximum, less if you think you’re that good you can win this thing with one.
The gallery … for hosting your input will open at the end of the fourteen day shooting period and be closed on the 21st April 09 … this allows you two weeks to get yourself organised after the 14 day period ends and get your files/submissions uploaded. If you don’t think you can manage this don’t participate! The sooner your three images are in the gallery the more views and comments they are likely to receive!
The judging system … as before will be based on a points system. One point for a view and six for a comment … the poster’s comments/replies will not count towards their score. The results of the competition will be posted in a thread a few days after the gallery has closed.
The winner/winners will receive the plaudits and constant admiration of fellow forum members for some time to come … but in reality, little else! We are just here for the fun of it after all.

I hope so, I'm going to blow the dust off my ancient Rolleicord and use that fellow.
BTW if light meters are not permitted do you think we can trust all those who will be using cameras with built-in meters NOT to use theirs?
Cheers.

Is medium format gear allowed? I'd finally try to use Bronica ETRSI purchased a few months back. The only experience so far with the beast was misloading of 135W panorama back resulted in 24 blank "exposures" on film base

I have this strange urge to use a Smena 8M, but it doesn't have a rangefinder. In fact, it barely has a viewfinder.
There was no mention of a limitation to rangefinder cameras, so I'm guessing it would be ok ?
Edit: If the Smena is not working in test, then I might try a Flexaret (120 tlr). Also ok ?

The elastic bands just set it off. Very stylish.
Is anyone using a pinhole camera ? Or a 20"x24" Polaroid ??

That looks sort of impressive
But why a rangefinder if there is no focus mount ?
And that reminds me that I should somehow resurrect my Blik if I'm going to use the Smena.

I haven't made up my mind yet, but my 5x7 pinhole is definitely an option....

Aye, that it is. Butt Ugly also comes to mind. In a clever and cute sort of way.

Count me in.
I'll be using my M3 and 50 summicron, and for film either 100TMax or Efke 25,50.
