Voigtlander Lens Hood 2 (LH-2)

Dear All,

I have a Color Skopar 35mm/2.5 and LH-2. The LH-2 is excellent in reducing flares but it does not allow attachment of lens cover and my lens gets really dusty when I do street photography. Is there anyway to buy or improvise a cover for the LH-2? Any comments or advise are welcomed.

Regards,
Peter

How about a piece of plastic attached and tightened with a rubber band? Works for me, and is cheap (I get the rubber band from work ).

Thanks RML, I am wondering if there are other ideas? Something more akin to a real lens cap?

I am not sure that this will solve your problem but I bought a Square lens hood for my QL-17 from a guy called the "camera hunter" at camerahunter.com. It comes with a step up ring (48-52mm), the hood and cap. Because of your 39mm thread mount it would be unwielding on your camera but he may be able to help you out. Mine is made of polycarbonate and had a nice cap, looks like this:

Thanks for the information. I have been to the website but it does not have an online catolog. Do I have to send a personal e-mail to the owner of the website?

Do you guys know if Cosina ever made an earlier version of this hood that didn't have the kind of sandpaper surface?

I ask because today I picked up one that was completely smooth and black. It also does not have the "Voigtlaender" printed on it. I thought maybe it's 3rd-party but it really is quite well made.
