neopan 16000

I just developed my first roll of neopan 1600, and I've very impressed! That film is beautiful... I exposed it at 1600 and the grain and tones are very nice. I developed in XTOL 1+1 for 7.5 minutes. The only other fast film I've used is delta 3200, which was much grainier and didn't have nearly as nice tones. Whats more is that the delta 3200 negs were very hard to print, whereas these neopan negatives look very printable on grade 2 paper.

Haha I was going to comment on the "16000" as well. I'd like to try some of that!

Kidding aside, these look very nice. I have used the film but never developed my own. I'd like to try that some day.

Very nice results indeed. Much better then I usually get. But my film is a bit past bbe date.
In my experience neopan is more contrasty, but I used xtol 1+2. Only getting good results when rated the film at 1000 iso. Lately Ive used DDX which worked better.
I've had good results with Ilford 3200 when shot at 1600 and developed in xtol 1+2.

Very nice dfoo! I'm going to be shooting some Neopan 1600 for the first time next weekend and I hope mine turns out as nice as yours. I'll be developing mine in Edwal FG-7. (My only experience with high speed film so far has been with p3200 and I found it to be quite grainy).

Best tonality and shadow detail I've seen from this film, when exposed at 1600. My results have suggested the true speed is probably 640, with decent results up to 800 or 1000. I'll have to try it in XTOL!

Thanks all. I'm very pleased... The grain is very pleasing. I like this much better than pushed trix, which I find has little shadow detail. I'll probably try and print a couple of the shots tomorrow, and will let you all know the prints turn out.
