No denying it is very nice, but his explanation about why the batteries are missing but their packaging is still there is a bit iffy. I'd have him check the battery compartment for corrosion before bidding. Who knows, the camera may be virtually unused, but with the batteries in there for 20 years...

His explanation of removing the batteries seems straightforward. He removed them when he bought the camera. Although even mentioning this does seem odd. So I agree that checking into that is worthwhile. $1,900 in 1987 does seem a bit pricey for the camera, as I don't expect it to go that high today. As the shutter doesn't seem to have been exercised, I'd expect it to be close to needing at least a partial CLA as well.

Hey, that's my Zip code in the description! Is this an omen of some kind?
Gotta think about this.

If he has 2000 transactions, that raises a red flag in my mind as to whether this is really HIS camera or one he came into by other means. 2000 transactions seems too high for a private guy, more like a business is being run.

I think I am a bit fickle and buy and sell a lot, and after 10 years I'm around 175 transactions.

The receipt is in the photograph. This definitely looks legit. I am not connected to this guy at all. I predict the camera will go over $2000.00 purchased by a collector , never to be used. What a waste.
