I was able to grind off the little catch and now my bessa L will fire with the advance lever closed. I just taped the advance lever open and used the dremmel. Very useful for those of us who see with our left eye. Now if I can just figure out a way to turn off the meter on long exposures. I always have to take the battery out for my night work.

Hi -- With the Voigtlander Bessa-L, bringing the wind lever out to the "ready position" turns on the TTL metering. But the wind lever then pokes you in the face, and may be unintentionally pushed back in turning off the meter... if you are using the left eye at the viewfinder.

Another solution of course is to convert to shooting right-eyed. :-)
