I'll be shooting alllll day in San Francisco for The Decisive Challenge. Looking forward to a great day, in my case meeting up with some local RFF friends as well.

Play along no matter where you are or what you'll be doing.

Looking to get out and use my older Summaron 3.5cm f3.5 and Summitar 5 cm f/2 lens this weekend. They have been sitting on the sidelines for awhile and need to take them out for a walk.

Eight years ago I spent a month here in Umbria and used 5 rolls of film. This year I will be here for three months, so far —in six weeks— I have made over 5,000 digital exposures, probably more than I have done in my previous 50 years of photography. I have files of all the film I have taken, should I have the same approach to digital?
I need to do some editing. Remove the obvious mistakes, the failed experiments, most of the time I bracket —for framing if not for exposure— best of three if that. So that leaves maybe 1,000 frames. Even allowing that local and documentary interest there are probably no more than 100 photographs of any value. Perhaps there are two dozen worthy of a photo essay, One or two real pictures, I don't know. I need to put the camera aside and look at results so far.
Today I was looking at the photos I took eight years ago: Film, Canon EOS1, scanned: I realise how poor the definition and colour is compared to the X100. I am unlikely to go back to film, I need to learn a new way of managing the abundance of digital.

Even compared to the HRF the Vectis SLR is very slow with only 1 fps when bracketing! It was a completely different shooting experience than a modern fast DSLR. It seems I forgot this fact in the last 10 years

I finished a roll of Arista 100 EDU in the Bessa R. Developed in Rodinal & is now hanging to dry. Got a few shots of my son & grandson & grandaughter. I have an extended day off Monday so perhaps will load another film & go for a stroll.

Hope you are enjoying Toronto Raid.

I have been shooting classic car events all weekend at Pebble Beach. Typing this while kicking back a minute at the Concours.

Shooting mainly film today via my G2 and 45/2 Planar. Acros and TMAX.

Didn't make it to the car show (Saturday) so went for a walk & burned 1/2 a roll of Arista Permium 400 in the Bessa R. Rained nearly all day today but I found a battery that fit in my new to me Spotmatic so next weekend I'll give it a trial run. I also have several cameras I need to finish rolls in.

There are many car accidents in the South during rainfall.
I hope that your son in law is doing well.

Hurricane Isaac has left us alone in Pensacola, but the Gulf of Mexico now has stormy waters, and the waves look great. I may go there this weekend to exercise my SWC for the first time.

What will you be up to this weekend?

We have a long weekend here in Canada this week and I'll be going to Montreal tomorrow to see the sights with an M2 and a GRD III. I will also be doing a test roll of the Ilford Surveillance P4 with my trusty Oly XA.
There is also a labour day parade on Monday and I will also be there to take photos. Can't wait!

With my next exhibit opening soon (October 13), I will be at the light table, loupe in hand, reviewing slides for inclusion in the show. The theme is determined, so now I am looking through a lot of images to find those that will say what I want to say. I also plan to make it a Barnack weekend as well.
