Borealus or just clumsy?

I have had these light streaks now on two rolls of film from two separate cameras. The streaks are on the negatives, but not the entire roll(s).
It's not the scanner.
It's not the camera.
Obviously I am mishandling some of my film, 35mm purchased in canisters. or the developer is not circulating within the reels..

Has anyone seen this before and what the h**l is it?

I know it's a sloppy shot shot by error. The shutter went off by itself.

It looks like either a lightleak, or somehow the chemistry is flowing through the sprocket-holes in an odd way. How are you agitating?

Ah, the dreaded "bromide drag"! Looks like you are agitating too aggressively, producing streaks of over development where the chemistry runs through the sprocket holes.

Do the affected frames all occur at the end of the roll, or are they scattered throughout the roll? If they are at the end, they were on the outside of the reel; if they are scattered throughout, you'll probably find that if you roll the film up as it is on the reel, all the affected frames will fall in the same quadrant of the resulting circle- this is the area that is getting the most agitation with your technique. If this sheds light on the problem, go easier with your agitation.

Do the bands match the sprocket holes? If so, then a processing artifact is likely as suggested.

I'm inclined to go with my processing. I wondered about chemical flow since the affected frames are not consistant in the unrolled film but probably are on the reel.
I'm using two diferent single reel plastic reel/tank units, one is new and I did get streaks. That leaves the agitation/chemical flow. I use recommended 30 seconds initially (rotating the reel) and 5 seconds each minute (turning the tank) thereafter.
I use D-76.
I'll start keeping records.

Make some nice silver gelatin prints of those streaked negatives on 11x14 double weight paper, drive in to Dallas, and go around to some art galleries! I'm serious about that too.
