Rangefinder database (list)

Hello, fellow rangefinders!

I'm making a rangefinder database (more like a list)
So I have a few questions:
  • would this be useful?
  • is there already such list?
  • how much information would be needed?
  • suggestions?
Rangefinder list (seriously incomplete)

Thanks.

I'd suggest you contact the people at Camerapedia and build your list as part of their database but RF-specific.

That's a fantastic initiative! I'd definitely refer to it if you bring it to a broader coverage, even if incomplete.

I just typed up a suggestion to add a column with manufacturer names and then noticed those are in various tabs. Just so everyone knows.

So, I took another critical look at the list and well it sucks. And I decided to this properly. I'll make a decent website with database with ability to search, sort, add images and maybe comments.
But for this I would be grateful for your help. I need to know which camera parameters are important. Especially exposure meter and flash sync parameters which are quite unknown area for me.
For now I can think of these parameters:
  1. Manufacturer
  2. Model
  3. Lens mount
  4. Focal length
  5. Max aperture
  6. Min aperture
  7. Aperture selection (auto and/or manual)
  8. Shutter speeds
  9. Shutter speed selection (auto and/or manual)
  10. Shutter type
  11. Flash sync
  12. Exposure meter type
  13. Exposure meter priority
  14. Exposure meter range
  15. Film speed range
  16. Battery
  17. Viewfinder magnification
  18. Viewfinder framelines
  19. Viewfinder information
  20. Manufacturing years
  21. Serial numbers
  22. Picture
That's about it. Quite a list, will be a bitch to collect but I live by the rule "I you do something, make it worth doing"
So, what do you think?
P.S.
