Olympus infinity Hi-lite 4.5

Has anyone used this? how is the lens? I just got one cheap. I like that it takes AA bateries, and I lke where the green light is. it is easier to press the shutter button (half way without shooting) than the oly Epic. And it has a fixed 35mm lens(slow though). I want to use it for day light portrait snap shots. I hope the lens is sharpish. Is this camera an unsung hero or is there a reason I have never heard of it? Thanks

Personally never heard of it before. Olympus produced a lot of P&S camera's in the 80's and most of them are very capable picture takers. Would expect yours can produce decent enough pictures but if the name implies it's f4.5 then you will struggle in dull lighting condition's unless using fast film. I just purchased an mju-1(stylus in U.S) for less than £6($10) and an AF-1 for £3.50($5.50). Both fully weathproof. Both camera's for my kids to learn with. The AF-1 has an f2.8 Zuiko lens! There's also the AF-10 which is a very good piccy taker. There's quite a few of these on that well known auction site at the moment. Noticed a few pictures someone had taken with the AF-10 which look quite useful. http://www.trekearth.com/photos.php?cat=camera&id=584
Can't really knock those pictures for a camera that can be snapped up for £10($15) or less.

Thanks for your reply muf

I own 3 Olympus Epics and I really like the pictures they take espeacily with fuji Realla and Tri X.However one thing I like about this Oly Hi-lite is the focus light is on the outside nearer to my eye, and the shutter release button seems more comfortable and less likely to accidently trigger it. Yes the lens is f4.5. I will use the camera for daylight if it is any good.
