Kodak Ektar 100

Haven't seen any of this myself, but the discussion on this thread sounds promising:

Did anyone here get sample rolls?

There are previous posts on the subject here; look around a bit.

Last I heard, Ektar 100 was supposed to ship sometime in October, so it's likely no one here has tried it yet.

The guy on Flickr didn't mention 120????, his shots sure looked good. They really look like slide film. Please 120!

Looks like no 120 at first. I'm hoping I will like it in the way I like Agfa Ultra 100. Which I am running out of...

Very eager to try a roll or two.

The dealer here (Oregon, USA) says first week of November and 35mm only, at least to start. These were the first actual photos I had seen.

Think it will sell at Costco for $8 per 6 rolls? Naw.... oh, well... still stuck with Fuji Superia 400.

Can't wait. It looks very very nice. Like slide film. A bit like sensia.

Kodak says that with the precipitous drop in E6 processing availability, Ektar 100 is indeed intended to replace slides for those users that can't get processing.

It's also a very high saturation film.

Frances and I will have to expose our two rolls as soon as possible!

Cheers,

R.

I'm seriously hoping Rochester will see their way to having sample rolls at Photo Plus (anyone know, one way or the other?). Really interested in giving the stuff a go.

As I am struggling a bit to get consistently nice slides from my M2, this might be for me. But I'll get a full roll of correctly exposed slides from it or I'll die trying! Hope I'll catch a bit of sun with the fall colors coming...

I just ordered Ektar 100 from pictureline.com. I was emailed a confirmation that the order is shipping today.

Hmm... I just checked and it IS listed for $4.35 a roll, but does not allow ordering. Instead it wants to know- "Notify by email when in stock ?"

Will recheck later. Maybe its one of these freaky Internet mysteries. Or, did you take them all ?

Here is a flickr group dedicated to the film. http://www.flickr.com/groups/885232@N23/
In one of the post it is already in stores in Chicago. Wish I lived in Chicago.

Hmm...Photo Plus is just a few days away. Will try and snag some sample rolls while there. Had a very good time putting Reala through its paces a while ago, so my expectations will be rather high.

I only ordered ten rolls.

I entered my email address on their site, for notification once it became available. I think i did that the night before. Then, yesterday, i got the email. Ordered immediately, expecting limited stock. They shipped the stuff right away, but it won't be here until the 28th....

I got two 36-exposure sample rolls in the mail today. All I had to do was asking Kodak via email.

Ok, I'll bite, what email address did you use to request a sample roll?

I mailed to the customer care center address I found on their website, asking if it is possible to get a roll of this film for testing.

I just found the same thing, and picked the film choice from the drop down list to ask for a sample roll.

I just tried them and they told me they will email me when the stuff will be available.... I called Freestyle and was told that they actually have the stuff in house but won't be shipping until around the middle of Nov. The same from Adorama. Dave
