Recycling spent 135 film cartridges

In our eco-friendly day and age, is there any method of recycling our spent cartridges of 135 film? I'm assuming they're made out of aluminum, so why wouldn't they be recyclable? I feel bad just throwing these things away after I've developed the film inside. Obviously bulk loading your own rolls onto reusable cartridges is possible.

Check 'em with a magnet. They're steel (at least the modern ones I've tried, though I do have some very old ones in light alloy).

Do you not have a metal recycling bin at your nearest recycling centre?

As Roger says, throw 'em in the recycling bin. If you feel like you should do more, take the spool out & put that in the plastics bin.

Golly, I'm glad I've use FILCAs. I save the world OUNCES of scrap over a lifetime. Leitz was way ahead of his time, no? No crappy velvet light trap to catch sharp rocks to drag across your film, either. Look at me.....I've gone GREEN :>)

Had a Sunday afternoon brew & tossed the can in the landfill-bound trash.

I feel & look much better now.

I always waste the last 1 or 2 frameson a roll. Then leave a tongue hanging out when I cut the film of... tape the leader from a bulk loader onto this tongue and reload it! ...or recycle it! It now had DX coding and everything. They are more durable than those flimsy plastic pull apart ones!

35mm cans get thrown in the Recycle Bin both metal and plastic parts...we only have one bin for all recycleable items...

120 reels get thrown in a box in the closet...I have a bunch of them...don't really have any use for them but you never know...120 paper backing goes in the recycle bin too...

I have to find a pic of the old wall... the new one has about 10 for now (just finished the darkroom on 30-aug)

PS, just reminded me... I saved many cartridges before the move for decoration purpoises.... now where would those be?????

I finished my darkroom last weekend so not much "decorations" yet
