It never ceases to amaze me how many different items Cosina has in their portfolio. Given the relatively low volumes, that must be a logistic nightmare.. Getting the assembly line set-up, training workers, running a batch and starting all over again with something else.. Just how do they do that (and in the mean time stay in business)??

I was yesterday at the Voigtländer Desk on Photokina , Köln.
In the new price list only the silver Nokton 1.4/40mm is listed. Not the black. On request they told me that only the silver is still in stock.
I think an official announcement of discontinuation will following soon.

When one says "Many items remain in stock, but some are sold out." are we talking worldwide or just @ The Head Bartender's Store?

The Voigtlander range is just a tiny part of Cosina's operations - pretty much a labour of love driven by Mr K, I believe.

"19419 Nokton 40mm/F1.4 mit Bajonett -silber- "
and he told me just what he has seen in his computer.

I think its a mistake on the price list. Cosina didn't tell me about a new chrome 40/1.4 when I met with them yesterday.

Could these discontinuations be seen as suggesting decreasing support by CV for LTM?

That finder is a good deal imho - some may find it "too small" but on the LTM cameras it's awesome.

Nokton 50/1,1 moved on the german Voigtländer homepage from products to archive: http://www.voigtlaender.de/cms/voigt...dih7s8j2x.html
A hint that this lens will not be produced any more? Does anyone know a reason?

Of course the nickel 50/2 and 50/3.5 Heliars are discontinued and out of production,
from the git go they were limited production items with only 600 of each produced world wide.

Discontinued Voigtlander Products Sept 2010
To quote the Cosina site:
We would like to announce that following products are discontinued.
ULTRA WIDE HELIAR 12mm F5.6 Aspherical Screw Mount
COLOR-HELIAR 75mm F2.5 Black Screw Mount
COLOR-SKOPAR 20mm F3.5 SLII Pentax KA
ULTRON 40mm F2 SLII Pentax KA
NOKTON 58mm F1.4 SLII Pentax KA
APO-LANTHAR 90mm F3.5 SLII Pentax KA
With the M mount 75/1.8 and 12/5.6, there is little need for the screw mount 75/2.5 and 12/5.6 versions.
Pentax SLII KA mount lenses are discontinued. They just did not sell as well as their Nikon and EOS cousins.
Thanks for looking,
Stephen

The 90/3.5 Leica Screw Mount lens ( black and silver)
and the Low Angle Viewfinder with its 12,15,21,25 lens attachments
are both discontinued and sold out at the factory.
It is doubtful if anything will replace them in the Voigtlander lineup.
Both are still in stock at CameraQuest

Are the LH-1 and LH-2 hoods discontinued? There are plenty brand new ones in Tokyo. Maybe Cosina started making them again.
