Sorry for such large images and so many... hope its ok.

These are just a few from an older series i did on some barbershops for my "Intro to Photography" class a year ago.

A lot of the images from the series are not so good I think... i've been meaning to continue this project now that i've grown/learned/gotten better but i've gotten caught up with other things as of late. :\

JBF,

The photos are great! The size was fine and the large number helps tell the story. I have a whole series I did on the barber I showed in my post.

Thanks so much Chris. I love your series too. Barbershops are such an interesting topic to me. They really tell the culture and motives of those who visit which can often be so different yet all so similar. It's a ritual of man I think.

You know the most difficult aspect of photographing barber shops are the mirrors! It can be very limiting as to the angles you can use, etc.

Anyway some great shots from you too. Beautiful tonality and character. Really a slice of life in small town America.

BTW, I really do love your work. You photograph landscapes in a way I could never dream of doing. You truly have a wonderful talent and artistic skill I must say. Regardless of what publishing issues you may have right now, I can assure you that one day your work will make waves and IMO is oh so valuable to the history and preservation of American heritage.

Some fun shots in the thread! Raid, I particularly like Lina's first barber visit.
Here's one of Fred giving me a haircut; he's now retired. Bronica RF645, 65mm.
