Agfa Ventura 66 deluxe

The Agfa Ventura 66 deluxe is one of two Agfa Isolette II's from my dad's collection.

[the only reason I know this is because they're almost identical ;>)

The Agfa Ventura 66 deluxe is imprinted on the lens door.
[ is that correct term?] beneath which is imprinted:

Made in Germany
U.S. Zone

lens: Agfa Solinar 1:4,5/85 sn 764xxx
shutter Compur Rapid

The other Isollette II has an Agfa Agnar 1;4,5/85 lens sn A91xxx with a Pronto shutter.

As always any warnings as what not to do, history, tips on cleaning, and value are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

You can find most of what you need to know by reading this thread:

The Venturas are basically identical cameras to the Isolettes.

I have the identical camera. It went on one trip to Belarus (eastern Europe) a few years ago along with a couple of high end P&S cameras. I have several b&w pictures on my wall taken with that camera.

Best advice, make sure you get a lens shade for it. I adapted a slip on series V hood to mine.

My first folder... exact same camera. Paid good money for it too. Gave it to Certo6 in exchange for making a small repair on my Iskra folder, which I much prefer. If you don't mind scale focus (and I hate scale focus, personally) its a very good folder with a very, very good lens.

Oh - and watch for light leaks in the bellows! Do check for this before wasting a good roll of film! Rare to find any Agfa folder without light leaks! I used black neoprene cement from a scuba diving supply store to repair mine. Worked fine.

Oh, you have the premium version with the Solinar. Should be a nice camera. No need to repeat what others have said. Sounds nice.
