Happy Birthday RFF !
I cant believe it's been 5 years since I first started RFF. Day one was 2 or 3 members including Joe and a Solaris 8 server at home connected to the internet via DSL. I remember staying up late every night just watching the number of users on line and wondering if they liked the site. I saw a pattern where users where on line at a certain time of the day and the site was quiet during the evening for me. Well, things are a lot different today with well over 25,000 members and users on line 24 x 7 from all over the world! I guess you liked it
I started RFF because of my passion for those little cameras which I consider to be industrial jewelry and my desire to exchange ideas and comments with others that felt the same. Now RFF is the leading internet site for rangefinder cameras and it could not have been possible without the members. Thank you all very much for contributing to this great site and making it what it is today. And many thanks to Mr. Gandy for continuing to keep the lights on at RFF. So, a big happy birthday to RFF and all of us here.

Ahh, the good old days.
We all had Canonets and Electros, nobody had Leicas.
The Cameraquest site was the store house of information.
Just think, we are now old enough to start Kindergarten.

It's the only forum I visit all day every day. Congratulations and Happy Birthday. It's a great service to the photo community in general, not just users of rangefinders.

Yes, Happy Birthday, Congratulations, and thanks for starting this site and keeping it up. It's also on my daily list.
I honestly thought it was older than 2003. I stumbled on the site in 2005 and my impression was that it had been around into the last century.

Happy Birthday to RFF
So glad this forum is still going very strong, it's the best. No equal. Today happens to be 3 years that I have been here. There are other sites and forums that I have gone to in the past five years but I spend 98% of the time here, the others just do not have the great people that frequent RFF! May it prosper and flourish, thanks JT and thanks SG.

Happy birthday to RFF. Thanks so much Jorge and Mr. Gandy! I frequent the site often, more than any other. I also recommend it to those I think would benifit from it and be a benefit to it.
A great site. Imagine, five years of great comradrie and information.

amazing!
5 years!
i remember it like it was yesterday. the time has simply sped by way too fast.
i think i was member number 11 and jorge asked me to moderate on day 2 or so. i asked what would i have to do and he gave me the keys to the place and told me to play it by ear.
it's been a hell of a ride since.
congrats to you jorge for starting the site and thanks to stephen for the continued support.

A very happy birthday. RFF was one of the reasons to get a Kiev, a Zorki and an Electro.
And, last but not least, a book with pictures taken with rangefinders :-)

I still remember Rover telling me on the rff chatroom-testroom that "leicas are not for him", hehe, do you remember that, Rover?
i guess you will deny it even if you remember it

we all were mostly about fixed lens rangefinders back then.
i had a coat rack that must have had a dozen of them hanging on it!
at one time i had 5 or 6 oly rc cameras, all in working condition.

Then I sat down, did some math, realized that if I sold everything....
A lot of what I buy now is still part of that same stack of DINK (dual income no kids) "investment." I just have to sell so I can buy some thing different.

I would say I was right to a point too. I do miss my Bessa R, and I am thinking of selling the M6 I bought with that first big sale, because I prefer other cameras to it.
But the M2 and M3 are staying.

Five years since I posted on a "What's your favorite film" thread, with Joe, Jorge and an older gentleman who could talk about Leicas in the 50s...
BTW, Jorge, I'm Francisco. Member No. 12... and proud of it!
Time really flies when you're having fun... And to think that if I started here 5 years ago, and I already "knew" Ralph and Joe from the PopPhoto forum... We've been at this for some time!
Fun, lots of fun still...
