Zeiss Contax Forum for the classic Zeiss Contax I, II, III, IIa, IIIa , G series, and if you want to push it, the nice Contax point and shoots. Some spill over from the Kievs, the Soviet copy of the Contax II/III can also be expected. Plus the ONLY production camera ever made in classic Zeiss Contax Rangefinder mount WITH TTL metering ... the Voigtlander Bessa R2C.

Telephoto to go with a Contax G outfit

Hi,

I am interested in adding a platform to support a 200mm lens (or thereabout) to supplement my Contax G for the days when the 90 is not long enough. I am mostly shooting chromes, so colour is an issue.

Presently I am thinking along the lines of a Contax 167mt with a Tele-Tessar 200/4 (both used). But had also been eyeballing Contax RX, Sonnar 180/2.8 and Tele-Tessar 200/3.5 lenses (these are heavy).

Looking at present used prices, Leica 180ies seem cheap these days as do Nikon 180ies. In either case I need a body.

Any comments/thoughts are deeply appreciated.

Ta
Joachim

PS: Anyone knows a Contax SLR mailing list/forum which still generates a decent amount of travel? The once I knew seem gone.
