Oleg is out of the repair business.

News from Oleg himself, he's returned from a sojourn to the hospital, and is no longer going to be accepting repairs.

Sad news for many.

He is going to continue to sell, though, and I for one am hoping he gives THOSE cameras a once-over. If so, they'll last a long time!

I'm trying to post the thread from Best Stuff but there's some very flakey upstream routing problem tonight on the Internet, and I'm having trouble establishing a connection at times (like this second)

Here it is:

I'm glad for Oleg (he must have been swamped by all the work he was getting) but devastated for us North American Russian RF users. Now who is going to fix our Ruskies properly? I know I was saving a Mir and two Zorkis for Oleg to look at. (darn shutter capping) Anyway, he deserves a happy retirement and I wish him well. Curt in Canada.

Yes, some more relaxed times ahead, hope that's pleasant for him!

I too wonder who the next-best FSU camera fixer is. I had been thinking of sending my Kiev/faked Contax in to get it actually working properly... :-(
