OK, this is purely for fun and to waste time. It is really not meant to start flame wars, rants, arguments, or any of that. Obviously a camera phone is not a serious tool. tha being said, just about everybody has one, so let's hear it!

What an amazing concept. A camera that is not a phone as it's first function?

Well, compared to souping your own rolls and then chasing the dust off the scans and then spending forever tweaking curves, he may have a point. But that's not really the point, is it?
The camera on my phone sucks royally. I've taken a few photos with it when I didn't have anything better to do but the quality doesn't even warrant taking the trouble to transfer them to my computer.

I use mine almost everyday. I have a mobile blog where I would send pictures and text from my phone. The lack of quality forces me to make up for it with content and caption. My phone also has a flash. I can't take a camera with me all the time so this is better than nothing. Here are a few examples from my phone:

Walking out of costco after buying more than I need.

The next morning after I had just washed my car.

Trying to capture detail from a camera phone. No avail.

Interesting question.
I haven't had a landline for the past two years. Nor do I log into a landline when in the office, only using the number for the occasional fax. My mobile is my primary 'phone and everyone - business and social - knows to ring it. I also have a separate number for my car, which has a built-in phone. One diverts to the other dependent on which is switched on at the time. Both my car and my handheld mobile provide high-speed internet access. Why bother with a landline anymore?

Bill

It's all integrated with the satnav. Both are voice-controlled. You can navigate to addresses in your contact list, or 'phone numbers in the satnav database - points of interest, etc. or from the web browser. You can add new ones by typing them in directly, or by bluetooth synch from your other 'phone. You just put a SIM card in a holder in the boot - er, "trunk" - and off you go

Bill

No, everybody does not have a camera phone. In fact, I don’t even have a cell phone; therefore, I could not vote.

Yes. Even THAT phone is a pain in the a$$ sometimes!
I had a friend who only had a pager. When he got a beep he would check the number. If it was someone he knew and wanted to speak with them, he would go to a pay phone and call them back. Smart guy!
No pay phones left nowadays though.

My mobile phone is a seven year old pre-pay coming up for its third battery - it doesn't have a camera . . or even a colour display.....

I have taken maybe two or three on purpose...any others were strictly and totally done by accident...
And don't you just love it when some joker with a cell phone steps in front of you to get his shot...

Bah humbug to the high and mighty who haven't used a cell phone camera and think it is beneath them...
Ok, so its not a D3 pixel popping pic. But it wouldnt have been taken if the camera wasn't there........

Admittedly, last few pictures I got from my cellphone were rather artistic.
Only if it was intentional.......

The real question would be,
How often did you use your rangefinder to call your mother?

There's one right in front of my house at the corner of Noorderkroonstraat and Hyadenpad.
Some folks smash its window-walls after every single football game.
Now that the european stuff is going on, KPN (or whatever it is called lately...the royal dutch phone company) didnt bother to replace the broken glass.

And obviously some don't think as you do. I just bought a tripod recently (small one) that had an attachment for a cell phone.
I take cell phone pics occasionally, and the best use I've had out of them is to use them for demo in the digital photography class I teach.
I also use them often in PowerPoint presentations.

I use it, and i like it! A 2 megas camera doesn't go far about quality, but it's very handy to have. I actually have some pictures that i like, and were only possible because the wide angle "lens" and the discretion that the phone camera provide!
But I hope i'll change the phone camera for a zeiss ikon soon..

I have a Fisher Price cell phone. It only takes pictures of giraffes and lions and elephants, for some reason. And no one gets my messages, either.
