A summilux 50mm Finally
Yesterday I was stilling thinking of asking a question in RFF as
"How much a Summilux 50mm Version 2 go recently?"
I always use the great link http://members.aol.com/dcolucci/a.htm as a price reference. But I noticed recently the price goes really high.... some Version 3 went at 1600USD, version2 1200USD.
I feel the pressure and with a impulse,I bought this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=004
1050USD including shipping. Not a great price but not bad I think.
Now I can't help waiting for its arrival.

i sold a chrome one with hood that was in 7+ / 8 condition for $750 ~ 3months ago and I think I got a fair price... $900-950 is about right for a 9+ lens

I think you did pretty well and that looks like a beautiful lens. I use a similar model and it is wonderful. Congratulations!

Despite the number, seller said lens was first version! So bear that in mind, basically a Summarit!

"this one" is a second version chrome 50mm lux, somewhat o a rarity. Most second verson's are black. second version 50 lux started with serial #1844001.. Source, Leica Pocket Book (5th edition at page 84)

Hi John!
I was interested in bidding on that item, so I asked the seller,- "just to make sure" it WAS the second version, of course I knew the numbering,- he replied "1st version" !
I believe he`s an expert, so why doubt? Though the lists seem to be quite clear. Anyway,- I didn`t bid then and I bought another one with number 19xxxxx .
Best regards Wolfhard
A terrific lens with beautiful rendering!

I have a chrome type II no. 1884155, 1961. It looks exactly like the one that went for 1500 US$ (exactly, well with some more signs of use...).

What is a Version 3 Summilux ? If it is the E46 version (with integrated hood, last pre-ASPH 50mm Summilux), I had it as chrome version. Very heavy lens ...
