Thumbs up Got my M6 and the Summicron 2/50

Hello all!

After all I finally got my black M6 and the Summicron 2/50 I bought at ebay! The body as well as the lens are in realy fine condition. My local Leica dealer took a look at the camera and told me that he would sell that body for about $1450,-. I got it for about $1050,-. Good deal.

I just put my first roll of film in the camera and I don't find it difficult at all to load it.

The only thing I don't understand: For the first 10 pictures the light meter with those red arrows worked well. Suddenly I do not see any red arrows anymore. There is absolutly nothing. Tried different shutter speeds, did a few pictures without... Nothing.

Will have to check that at the Leica Shop.

Otherwise I am more than happy with my purchase! Just had to tell you.

Greetings from Vienna,

Martin

I would check the battery with a Voltmeter and also test for dirt/corrosion in the battery compartment. Let us know what happens. If the camera had not been used in a while, the battery could have been on its last leg.

I'd say it's a battery problem, Martin. Get a few spare batteries and shoot away.

Now, if this is a non-TTL M6, just make sure to keep the shutterspeed in B every time you put the camera away. Otherwise, the meter stays on and you can drain the battery.
