It depends on the model. I've just taken apart an M6 (classic) topplate and the windows are glued to their frames. In an M3 there is an internal frame holding the windows glasses, also glued from the inside. Hot water will be enough in both cases to melt the glue and allow glasses removal.

I just brought the camera to my trusted repairman, who in less than 5 minutes, and using a lot -and I mean at least 6 different Leitz branded tools-, took it off.
