Gallery posting question

When I upload a photo to my gallery here, there is the option to also put it into thematic galleries. When I use the pull down menus to select other themes, such as "people" or "cityscapes" or such, then the photo appears multiple times in my gallery.

Is this the way it is supposed to work? I would really like for my personal gallery to just have the image displayed once. Do I need to delete the other classifications for the photo?

I usually load up to only one gallery for that reason, but yes if you load up to more than one gallery it will show up in more than one gallery. And, I have found that deleting one image form one gallery, but not the other gets confusing and can be a pain.

I think it would be best to avoid duplication, and place an upload in only the one "best" place for it.

Before the gallery change I was posting to the main member album and a copy of each image to a gallery dedicated for each of my lenses (e.g hexanon 50, CV 15 etc) so others could see what images taken with a particular lens might look like (even if the images are from only one sample of a given lens). Now it is a bit more difficult I think because means more than one image in the main gallery which isn't ideal...
I'll keep looking for a way to sort this too, but in the meantime consider only 1 gallery I suppose...
