Linhof Super Technika 6x9 1953 RF

I am doing som testing of my linhof super technika 6x9 this week end and I am unsure what to trust the ground glass or the rangefinder.
The rangefinder cam has the same serial number ingraved as the lenses have on hte front rim som theese should be adjusted to each other. But when I focus with a magnifiyng lupe on the ground gals the ground glas "in focus" and the Rangfinders "in focus" seems to be about 1/2 metre apart at a distance of 5 metres.
It is the originnal ground glas and the 4 adjustment screws on the back are tightened !
The model is the II 1952-3 with Schneider lenses 65 mm 5,6 Super angulon, 105 mm 3,5 Xenar and 180 mm 5,6 tele-xenar. Is it usual for these to focus methods to differ when the cam and lenses have the same number.

I would guess that if the rangefinder and groundglass don't agree on focus, the groundglass is the most trustworthy. Rangefinders need adjustment now and again. Do the focus scales of the lens agree with the GG?

there is no focus scale on the lens but one to the right of the view finder that is coupled to the rangfinder cam mechanism
I will have to check that out with a tape measure - thanks for pointing that out Frank! - no it is lat in my part of the world so i will be signing out and into bed - cheers Ruben

The ground glass has a bit of depth of field, even with a loup while the rf does not. I would believe the GG with a loup and careful measurement. The rangefinder adjustment screw of the 6X9 is--get this--behind the leatherette beside the front rangefinder window. Adjustment will mean carefully prying the leatherette up and regluing afterwards (once you have the leatherette up you will need to pry up a thin metal cover that is glued over the adjustment hole).

Before doing this check your distance at infinity, 15, and 3. On 15 and 3 check with a tape measure.

The entire RF/VF can be disassembled and cleaned (I had a Biogon version), but unless you have worked on these devices before I would only go so far as adjusting the screw under the leatherette. Otherwise, send it out for repair.

Ruben, how do you find the Tech to use? I would really love to try a technical camera, but I can't stand the thought of sheet film - so a rollfilm backed Technika sounds ideal. Sadly, they still go for too much money to just try one........
But I really would like to play with the movements, the results (if you get them right) seem stunning.
So - can you spare a few moments to give me (us) some thoughts on what it's like?

I have been used to using a FUJI GX 680 Wich has the 6x8 format all the movements in front SLR and moter driven film mag but no rear ovements - The Linhoff is very different - there are a lot of stuff to be rembered as it offers no automatic help - cocking the shutter, winding the fims not to get doubleexposure and the ground glass focusing etc. I would put it this way - dont go shooting with the Linhof if you are sressed or have something else on your mind or you have company by someone ho talks - I am talking out of few hours old experience - in other words I will be do some reshooting/testing this afternoon - I like the linhof though and I got a good deal on the items described above: camera - 3 lenses+ two roll magazine and a lot of sheet film holders for less than 1000 USD -I like Xenar lenses on my Rolleiflex - so I guess they will be fine on the Linhof to - I do not go for maximum sharpness
