easy alternative RFF search

I put together this simple javascript that utilizes google for searching RFF. It brings up a dialog box to enter the search criteria.

Link is here.

Safari: click on the 'search RFF' link and drag to your toolbar.

Firefox: right click on the 'search RFF' link and save to Bookmarks toolbar.

I have to say that the search engine used by RFF is atrocious, the only downside of the site. Thanks for sharing this great tool with everyone.

I thought it was useful to put here a link to a page I created using Google Custom Search a tool that let you personalize the Google search page. Basically it's a search page with the classic search field that only search within the www.rangefinderforum.com domain.

I bookmarked it and I use it for searching for topics of my interest.

RFF Search Engine

Ciao,

Yahoo has an advanced search too where you can filter for a specific domain.

It doesn't work for me: I get an error message from google, saying that the link doesn't seem to work; could it be that it is language dependent ?
The link Stravinsky provided works fine.

Stefan.

Yeah...I just use Google with this syntax:

"50 1.9" site:rangefinderforum.com

Just change what is inside the quotations to whatever you would like to search.

I use this method (particularly) with 3 characters or less.

Improved forums, classifieds, and gallery search

I can now offer three working bookmarklets. One to search the forums, one for the classifieds, and one for the gallery.

Just visit the link and you'll find instructions. Enjoy.
