First Roll shot with my Canonet G-III QL17
Just got the Canonet G-III QL17 a couple of weeks ago. Got the 1st roll developed. I haven't shot film in about 5 years and that was with my Elan 7E. I have posted the pics on Flickr. These are unedited scans of the prints. Not too bad for the first roll. Take a look.

Could it be that it overexposes a bit ?
I have the impression all pictures are a bit overexposed, except the ones that should be underexposted, like the picture of the bear; with that much of visible air metering, it should have underexposed the bear, but it hasn't.
Also, there seems to be a purple spot on the fifth picture (the man with the rope) ?
Sharpness seems excellent. I have a QL17 and a QL17 G-III coming ...

Yeehah Renfair!! Were people stopping you and saying, "What is this strange device, sir?"
Nice pics, but I agree they're overexposed. Could be the scans, though, if they're from the drugstore, or maybe the battery's going, or somebody put the wrong value in there?
I love that camera, I must say. Have a great time with it...

Stefan,
Thanks for taking a look. I noticed that the pics were overexposed too. I have adjusted the ASA on the camera to slightly underexpose the second roll now in the camera. The picture of the bear shows the glare of the sun whitewashing the bear. The purple spot on the man with the rope, he's striking a medallion, is five sided like the apeture of the camera, Canon coated this lens in both amber and purple. Both of these are classic cases of lens flare. I'll need to get a lens hood because of the very strong sunlight here in the Southwest. My other cameras don't shoot nearly as wide open as the Canonet. My next widest is my Powershot G6 at f/2.0 and it occassionaly has a problem with the glare, but not often. Ah, the joys of learning film photography again.

Thanks,
The prints are from a Walgreens, I couldn't wait and got one hour processing. I didn't like the scans from the drugstore, they were pixilated and too saturated. I posted scans of the prints using my Canoscan 8400F. These are straight scans and I did not edit the exposures any so that it would show what the camera was really doing.

If you are using a 1.5 volt battery, that will result in some small overexposure. Combine that with the quality of Wallgreens printing, and there you have it. I wouldn't worry though, the camera seems to work great, nice and sharp.
