Photogs / Photo Exhibits This is the place to discuss a particular Photographer (work, style, life, whatever), as well as to post Gallery and Museum Photo Exhibitions and your own impressions of them. As we march on in this new digital world, it is often too easy to forget about the visual importance of the photographic print, as well as their financial importance to the photographer. It is also interesting to remember that some guy named Gene Smith shot with lenses that many lens test reading "never had a picture published in their life" amateurs would turn up their their noses at, as being "unacceptable."

Thanks for the update. B&W with a rangefinder for nature could be neat...

Okay, I was going to have to miss this because the APUG Traveling Portfolio get-together at my place was the same day, but since only a couple of people RSVP'd for that, three of us so far have decided to attend the workshop, and I'll bring the portfolio with me, so we can look at it after the workshop.

The APUG Traveling Portfolio is a portfolio of prints by APUG members that gets mailed from one participant to the next. Each person puts in a new print when the portfolio arrives and takes out their old one, and then ships it on to the next participant. We've got two portfolios circulating after doing this for a few years now. Each one has about 15-20 participants, and it takes about a year for each portfolio to make the full circuit.

Looks like we'll have good weather for this tomorrow.
Don't forget to call to reserve your seat...

Unfortunately, I had to work at the last minute and missed this. I did manage to get over there on Friday and look at the photos. I'll have to get my TLR out and stop by there at a later date.
