Neofin Blau - CHS25

Hello everyone.

I will soon have 10 rolls of Adox CHS25 to soup, I purchased some Neofin Blue for the purpose. However, the only times I have found seem to make no sense, the Silverprint site states both 9 minutes and 3.5 minutes, same temp and dilution (time posted by me here are approximate, I can't exactly remember!).

The instructions that came with the dev are, erm, confusing to say the least! I think I'm supposed to put one little bottle of the dev into enough water to make 600ml, then multiply the dev time by 1.3 or something because the solution is normally 1 bottle to make 600ml of solution.

So, first I have to figure out what the dev time is, then multiply that by 1.3, maybe.

OK, you can probably tell, I'm confused! I have 5 bottles of dev, 10 rolls of film, my tank does two rolls per go, any ideas how I can do this? :s

Thanks in advance.

A.

hm, I only used Neofin blue with Agfa APX 100 so far. As far as I know you don't need longer dev times when your tank allows for two rolls at the same time, the multiplication is for the second roll in used developer or for pushing the film.

Fotoimpex recomends 5-7 minutes 20°C agitation first 30 seconds then 4x a minute.
This should give you EI 20 with CHS25.

You shoot a test of 6 pic on the first of a roll, pull out 12" in the dark a develope just that strip. Actually print or scan it to detirmine if it is correct and then adjust from there.

No way would I do ten rolls without having printed a goodly number processed that way first. Everybodys times for the same film and developer can be different.

I'm probably a bit late in spotting this post, but I rate CHS25 at box speed and develop two rolls together at 20° for 8 mins (constant agitation for the first minute then 10 secs every minute thereafter).
