Wisner LF cameras.....

Are they still in production? Also does anyone know when they stopped producing cameras for Zone VI branding?

I only know what I read on other forums - Wisner is still in busines but psooibly not in production and not very communicative. You might do better to attempt a conversation with Ron himself to get these answers.

His website seems to indicate he is taking orders. Has not responded to e-mail and the phone # is bad. Too bad, I was getting pretty excited about his cameras.

Ron Wisner has been pretty much out of business the last three years, is heavily into excuses, is virtually 100% incommunicado, and is an exceptionally risky individual to do business with.

Ron made very, very fine cameras, including the 8x10E he made for me. He is an extremely knowledgeable person to converse with. Dealing with the man is another matter as he is long on promises but way short on business-sense.

You'll find plenty of 'skin' on Wisner within the Large Format Photography Forum.

Bruce

PS – Because of Ron's actions, Wisners can be had used at a fraction of their real value.

PSS – Wlsner ZVI cameras have not been produced for a long time.

The one to get these days is the Chamonix. LFF forum has lots of threads about it. Sadly I can't afford one but the new Shen TZ 4x5 looks nice. I will probably sell my Cambo rail to fund one.

Go over to Large Format Photography Forum and search Wisner. Not sure where I read it but he may have come into some inheritance money so the need to make cameras is not as great.

I have a Zone Vi (4x5 and 8x10) myself and can't remember if it was his or Fred's. Richard Ritter would be the one to know when they changed over. He's at http://www.lg4mat.net/ and also makes 8x10 and ULF cameras. Very good person to deal with.

Interesting side note. Wisner is still making cameras. But no more 4x5's. Found out from Emile De Leon.

At the PMA show in February, I thought I saw the Wisner name at the HP Marketing booth, the Linhof distributors.
