Hexanon lenses. still being made?

ok, i've been looking around for some of the hexanon-m lenses mentioned in various threads but don't seem to be able to find any resellers.

which makes me wonder if are they still being manufactured? if so, where can they be bought?

thanks,
chris

I am afraid not only the Hexanon lenses are no longer made and not for nearly 10 years but Konica the company no longer exists. Konica was bought out by Minolta some years ago and the new merged company is now called Konica Minolta.

Konica is out of the camera business. They merged with Minolta and Sony bought them out. Their 'support' for the Konica line is woefully inadequate.

The lenses are available wherever used gear is sold, and are excellent values. The lenses can be serviced by privateers like Sherry and DAG; the bodies are another matter.

A good source for used and very often new Hexanon lenses is Matsuiya Store on eBay. Totally reliable and excellent service. They even have the rare ones

well, that would explain the difficulty in finding a dealer and a lack of information on the konica (konica-minolta) website.

thanks, ocean7 & kevin.

off to evilbay....

Plug : http://stores.ebay.com/Matsuiyastore

Look under Konica/Minolta, and make sure to check them often if they don't have what you are looking for right now.

Good luck!

...at prices that'll make you kick yourself for not buying them by the pound when everybody and his brother was selling them new on ebay.

I don't know. Maybe they qualify for the hard-to-find-vintage status now?

Also these guys have a store so I understand they charge for their overhead but it's not that bad. I have been following 50 'hex for some time now. Here on RFF they fly off the classifieds for around $400, Matsuiya sells them in the same or better condition for $440.

It's been more like 4-5 years (depending on who you believe) since the plug was officially pulled on the Hexar RF system, which also conincided with the Konica Minolta merger (IMO, right up there with Penn Central and HP-Compaq in the "whose bright idea was that?" department).

I also miss Konica film, although the film appears to live on under another label. No more Impresa 50, though.

Glad to hear that Sherry Krauter and DAG will service the hexanons. I have the 90mm and was worried who would be able to work on it when the time comes for service.

Is there any specific lens that you are looking for?

Try Luigi at http://www.leicatime.com/

I think he keeps a small stock of new Konica cameras and lenses.
