Function/repair question for my GIII...

Hi, Folks!

I recently received a Canolite that I planned to buckle up to my GIII. Doesn't work. Shifted it to my QL 17 (non-GIII), and it works fine. The GIII works fine without the flash (exposes and meters OK), but won't work with the Canolite in the Auto mode. Flashes in manual....

I assume there's a wiring problem. Seems as the wiring is just under the hood, but "what" does "what"? My recent repair history isn't good, so I'm apprehensive. I REALLY like the GIII.

How well can you read schematics?

If you can I can post the electrical schematic for you, but the part that does the auto flash thing is tres confusing.

I'm probably NOT a good candidate for anything "tres confusing". I'm sorta ham-fisted, and not good at delicate maneuvers. Anything smaller than an ultra-light spinning reel tends to make me sweat...

I'll probably take the hood off and try to see if there's anything obvious that needs a re-solder or something, but....

You might hear me whine a bit in the near future, but don't throw any life preservers just yet!
