Notch that triggers framelines?

Can someone tell where the notch is on the M-adapter that triggers the viewfinders framelines, or are they triggered by a different mechanism?

thanks

I'd say it is the leftmost of the four flanges on your image. Compare with this P.net thread.

As I have always understood it, its the position of the curved notch at the top of your photo. (Same as for a lens) They have a slightly different position for each frameline. I may be wrong but am sure that if I am I will be corrected quickly.

EDIT OK I stand corrected

Here you go, the adapters for 35/135 and 28/90 respectively. You can see how little they differ in the frameline selector notch. The 50/75 is somewhere in between..
