My J9 finally arrived today, just waiting on my lens hoods.

Polishing up the J9 as I browse the forum and all it took to ease the stiff focus ring was a small amount of Ronsonal. Love the smell of Naptha in the afternoon.

Ronsonal. Who would have thought. I rummaged around in the garage and found an old can. Still smells like the real stuff. Haven't smoked a pipe since 1996. Now all I need is a lens with a stiff focusing ring...

My FED 2(e) has a misaligned rangefinder. The vertical is out. Is this an easy fix or this a hard fix?

Still waiting for the Kiev 4 am.

My 50s, 1.8 and 1.2 have returned from CLA.

I think everything is in the house right now,...., oh, I won a Jupiter 8 last night, now being wrapped in brown paper and tied with Yak hair.

Joe,

Minisofties are $10 apiece direct from TA (not listed on his website), including s/h. Just thought you may want to know. Or maybe not... Well, maybe some Bessa owner will benefit from this bit of info.

Fed 2e's here with a yellow filter, along with a big brother Moskva 2... seller offered it to me for $20-, why not
1/3 of my Diafine order is here, other 2/3 already shipped and should be here next week (that's for you FrankS & GeneW)
Salyut w/ Industar-29 is here, only 5 min's to fix the light leak (known problem).
Tamron 105/2.5's here. Nice lense, very bright and there's _no_ info anywhere about it. I'll have to test it against my Rokkor 100/2.5.
J9 should be at the post office, and picking up the Elmar 90/4 myself this weekend.

I think that's it.

One more, a Oly 35SP from a fellow RFFer that's to be mailed yet.

and a Tech Notes CD from Rick Oleson.

Today's FedEx delivery brought me a package of powder to make 1 gallon of fixer and a 100 feet roll of ASA/ISO 400 film made in England. I'm guessing it's Ilford HP-5 although it's labeled "Arista". The development chart gives times for speeds up to 1600...... should be some good stuff.

For vertically aligning the rangefinder image, you have to take off the bezel on the rangefinder window, and then turn the glass wedge found inside of that - you'll have to dissolve th glue that holds it there first, though, but I can't think of what to use for that right now...

Roman: Once I dissolve the glue, apparently enabling me to realign the glass wedge, do I have to re-glue it?

Roman: I took off the front and discovered that the adjusting was easy because it wasn't glued. Managed to get it back where it should be in short order.

Of course, probably in equally short order, not being glued, it'll wander off a bit. If it does, then I shall get serious with some sticky stuff. Obviously a teensy bit.

Still waiting for my copy of 'bystander' that was sent almost one month ago

And also in the process of getting a refund for my lost Agfa Ventura 66 some months ago. When at LAST I can spot a cheap one ($40) with the 4 element Solinar lens, it gets lost in the mail !!

Argh.

The mail this week should bring a 50mm Canon f1.8 from a friend that I'm selling (I've still got that list), and an exotic new camera cover for my M3 from Aki Asahi. As soon as I found out how easiy it was on my M2 that I had to recover, I decided to do the M3 which has just a few missing corners, but with the ease and low cost, there's no reason not to recover a camera.

Everything's here. Went thru Rick's CD and found out how _easy_ it was to disassemble my Summar to clean it.

Diafine's at the Post Office waiting for me to pay the taxes.
