Hi all,


Has anyone experienced play or sloppiness in the mount of the current Elmar?

My chrome version, which has been about a fair bit, feels a sloppy when not hard on infinity. Although I think this has no effect on results I wonder if it is work getting sorted?

The play does not appear to be in the extension and locking side of the lens, more in the actual focussing mount.

I don't have any play in mine, but it is fairly new and hasn't had a lot of use.

I haven't experienced anything like that in mine either.

I picked up a used/like new black version a couple weeks ago, and there is no play in mine. Are you saying there is play between the focussing ring and the mount?

Yup, as you say, between the focussing mount and mount itself.

I've had this lens for eight (I think) years and it is very much my favourite.

S'pose I'll just have to use my nasty, heavy, ugly, current Summicron while it is away being sorted.
