wireless remote on an M??

Would it not be nice to have a remote control on you camera?
Often people freeze or act up when they see you take their picture (at a party for example). with a very wide lens scale focussed around your neck, it would be possible to take candid pictures, If there would be a small non evident remote control.

Of course one could use the good old cable release that screws into the release button, but that would be evident and very visible.

Does any-one know of a relatively small system that screws into the cable release (like one of those self timers), but that is activated through remote control. I imaging it could be constructed from a self-timer and a standard servo used for Radio controlled models; but it probable some-one somewhere has done this already before.

Any-one aware of such a system?

Yes. The Minolta CLE is part of the big SLR X700 family in constrols and electrics. I have the wired remote on it, which screws into the left top (rewind) side of the camera. Unusual place. The remote has a button switch on it, simple.
Wireless is possible but big and clumsy. It involves a flash-sized receiver in the flash shoe and the battery operated remote. But, you will have to aim at the receiver. No good.

good luck!
