Weekly Gallery Picks. A Slight Change?

We usually save our favorites during the week and then post them on Monday like:
Photographer's Name | Photo Title | Hyperlink to Photo
(Although we all vary in the layout somewhat)

We gets lots of traffic but curiously little participation. Sometimes I seem to be talking to myself!

How about moving towards:
Photographer's Name | Photo Title | Hyperlink to Photo
One line comment
Would that make it better, or not?

I think a comment is nice, but by no means a requirement.

Yes, I had thought that. Sorry not to have written it.

The comment could be a copy and paste from what you may have left under the photo in the Gallery.

Or it could describe the photo a little so that if 'the woman with a big hat sitting on the park bench' is mentioned five times we don't need to click on obscure links five times.

That's an idea. Another idea is to limit the number of picks. I mean, at the beginning, it was 5, then some posters started to pick 10, others more than 10, some only 1 or 2 ... picking 5 seems good to me, it means you made an effort to carefully choose pictures that really moved you. It's hard to pick only 5 pictures, but if it wasn't it wouldn't mean anything ...

Yes, I waver between three and five picks myself. I generally find up to ten in my favorites and remove all but the very best.

Recently I have also been putting them up to the thread one at a time over a few days to continually bump the thread back onto the front page.
