Konica Hexar RF limited kit set
I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on this: Konica Hexar RF limited kit set. The only reason I will do this is because of the 50mm f/1.2 lens and not the body. How much would a new body without the lens potentially sell for?
Thanks,
Stephen

Bodies have been trading in the $500-$700 range, more or less. Of course they weren't new.

That is a huge difference. The kit I'm referring to is here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tab%3DWatching
$4499. I actually am only interested in the lens. Would this still cost say $700-$1000?

Buy it, sell it. The 50/1.2 fetches premiums with M8 users ...

Never ever trust my memory, but I think the previous sets sold for less. I think I remember a $4,000 price for an earlier set from that seller.
The modern 60/1.2 LTM lens has sold in the $1,800-$2,100 range this year. A RFF member got the last one we talked about here.
Compared to the $3,000-$5,500 prices for a 1.0 Noctilux, the Konica 1.2 lenses are a bargain.

PM me if you pick it up. I'm interested in a Hexar body!

i know this might offend some around here.... and although its' a bit off topic... you may also want to consider the Nikkor 50/1.2 AI or AIS on a film body or D200 if you like digital...
50/1.2 AI/S can be found for under $350 and it's pretty amazing on a D200 (no vignetting on account of only using the centre of the lens on a DX body)...

Or the Canon 50/1.2. Look in the Canon RF section for a listing on Craigslist in San Francisco.

No offence taken; I was using a 5D and had a sweet collection of L lenses until I had Tennis Elbow which refused to go away. I'm new to RF (lighter) and already have the 50mm Lux ASPH and the 50mm M-Hexanon (and a whole bunch of M lenses). Find that the Hexanon is something I like, and would therefore like to add the 50mm f1.2.

$4499. How do we split between the body and the lens? You can PM me your suggestion.

I have seen the samples and the 50 f1.4 is preferred, but takes 48mm filters which will not work on the M8 with hood. Any good sites that demonstrate the 50mm f1.2 prowess (possible as it takes the 55mm UV/IR filters)?

Why won't it work on an M8? 48mm is a little weird nowadays, but there are step-up rings if you want to mount a 49mm, etc., which would also take of any hood size issue (assuming you're referring to a standard screw-in hood, not the original Canon clamp-on).

I saw it once in a small shop in Helsink Finland in a gorgeous condition (can easily be sold as new) for 1800 euro the whole kit, that lens is HUGE but the funniest thing I think Hexar looks better in black

I think Luigi (umana) has one of these listed in his 'New Old Stock' section as well as other Hexar cameras and lenses. But he's away traveling for another week.
