Electro 35 GSN Issue

I've an Electro 35 that has a puzzling issue (to me). It doesn't seem to expose - i.e. when the film is processed, the negatives have only hazy patches on them.

How would I go about diagnosing this?

I'd appreciate any help and pointers to resources. Thanks!

Start by opening the back and firing a couple of shots to physically see if the aparature blades open correctly by looking into the lens from the back. If you try different setups (wide open or fastest apparature and do it indoor when you get longer shutter times and outdoors with faster ones etc) you should be able to determin if the exposures work fine. If yes - try another role of no - then it needs service!

http://www.yashica-guy.com/document/repair.html Skip to the part about "replacing the pad of death." 90% of the time that's what's wrong with Yashica G-series rangefinders, and it can have all sorts of bizarre exposure related symptoms.
