New Canonet QL19 - battery wire replacement

Hi - I have a New Canonet QL19 (1971) that has had a battery corrode inside it. I have removed the bottom plate, the plastic battery well, the copper sheet underlying the plastic battery well, etc, and cleaned it up.

However, the blue wire attached to the metal plate in the plastic well has broken off (from corrosion) from its connection at the other end, about 6 centimeters along, and has fallen out of the camera.

Can anyone tell me / show me where this needs to be re-connected to ?

The shutter works nicely, as does the apature, and the glass & cosmetics are otherwise spot-on so I want to repair this to use it alongside my QL17 GIII - please help!

Many thanks

Norm, Canberra

There is a copy of the Canonet GIII repair manual on my website here:

The wiring should be the same for the "new" model.
