eye release on M3

Hi

I wear glasses and shoot quite confortably my M2 for 50mm and my M6 0.58 for 35mm and even 28mm.

I am thinking of adding a body to the arsenal and I am tempted by the M3 but fear for the eye relief.

What should I expect in terms of release?

Is the 50mm frame in the M3 comparable to the 35mm in the M2? Larger? smaller?

Thanks

Michael

I shoot with M3 which has my 50mm 'Cron glued to almost permanently (except of the rare occasions I'm in the mood of 90mm dedication). I wear glasses also but figured 50mm frames in M3 are apparent and clearly observed without an excessive eyeball excercise, yet the frame lines are towards the edges of the frame. The lines are clearly visible (and they are quite thick and obvious, to considerably more degree then in M6).
I found it is a pure joy of focusing with M3 (either 50mm or 90mm) thanks to a large and well defined RF patch.

Just qualitatively, the 50 lines on the M3 ae about 5-10% smaller than
the 35 lines on the M2.

Also they are very solid (twice as thick?) and rounded, a little like
an old Kodakchrome slide frame.

Due to larger magnification the patch is noticably larger.

I've heard there was an improvement in eye relief from earlier to later models.
Don't know for sure though, I have late M3s.

Best,

Roland.
