ID challenged Fed 1 '' Leica ''

Hi
I picked up a brass Leica copy in Uk , because it has the chrome shutter button in old Leica style shutter release and indents on the accessory shoe .

i assume that the rangefinder element is early Fed , but could the base of the camera be from a later version ? The base plate has Zorki S style catch ...

To my amazement and dismay , it also has real reptile skin covering - so thick that it pulled out the screws when I removed it - I don't know how the camera stayed together !

... I bought it to create an '' immersed in water for 50 years '' copy of that Leica which was shown in the forum , but the brass is so nicely aged !

no pics of the camera - lost the download cable for digibox Canon G 2 !

Has all the indications of a working camera assembled from parts of several non-working ones. Recalibration needed if you intend to shoot with it.

A lot more than recalibration - the rangefinder doesn't , the rear of the blinds are corroded , though the speeds sound Ok it's noisy ! I did not buy it as a user , but i like the brass patina , so it's an OLeg moment - and my 1st recovering !
