Ricoh 500GX focussing ring

I have a recently acquired Ricoh 500GX which has a loose focussing ring. The left hand side can move forward about quarter of an inch, but the lens itself is rock solid and the results are fine. My only concern is that the ring may become more detached over time. Does anyone have any suggestions for effecting a home-made fix?

If the Ricoh 500 GX (correct the subject, please) is like the 500G, you can easily unmount all the rings (focusing, speed and aperture) and very likely to fix the problem with a little screwdriver.

Ask for more detail if needed.
